ENGINE 29

The apparatus of the South Haven Fire Department has changed drastically since it's inception in the late 1950s. Now we have more sophisticated vehicles that can do almost everything, including but not limited to transporting patients to the hospital, extricating patients from wrecked vehicles, and carrying the much need equipment and personnel to the scene of a structure fire. Please take a minute and look through our apparatus page and see some of the equipment that protects you and your family.

ENGINE 2711

Engine 2711 is a 2000 Pierce Dash. 2711 has 4 jump seats (backseats), an Officer's seat (front passenger), and a driver's seat. This engine has a 1250 GPM pump and carries 1000 gallons of water. We currently have over 1000' of 5" supply hose, 350' of preconnected crosslays, and 400' of 3" supply line that may also double as a ground monitor line. 2711 was outfitted last year with 5 ISI SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) systems and 4 spare bottles. These SCBA has the top of the line computer tracking system install that can transmit information from the environment that the firefighter is in, back to a laptop computer at the Command vehicle. This information can help Incident Commanders make educated decisions on tactics. This engine also carries the department's thermal imaging camera. This camera aides firefighters in finding fire in a wall or ceiling and can aid in finding victims that are trapped.
